About Love and other things

I am in a relationship. which in itself is nothing admirable or commendable or even news worthy (unless you are that shallow). Marital Status is supposed to be like religion. only people who are wants to be in a relationship with you care about . But it's Egypt, so no, it's everybody's business and everyone has an opinion and some people will treat you differently according to it.
Not in a hundred years I thought it matter, except for the sincere "3o2ballek" and the not so sincere "shedy 7ellek"  it's something that people don't spend their life caring about.
But then I actually was in a relationship, a relationship that some people deemed unworthy of me.
I always though "You deserve better than this" is just a phrase people say but whether they believe it or not, won't make a direct change to the way they treat me, maybe the way they treat my partner, but never me.
But boy was I wrong.
Does it make any sense that people Love you so much they hate you? isn't the point of being in a relationship is happiness? if you are happy, your partner is happy and both of your immediate family is happy , then does anyone else matter. does a friend has a right to move heaven and earth to kill that budding romance . trying to alienate you from all your common friends, the excuse! She deserves better
Who's to say if you deserve better or worst, and even so isn't the end result in your own hands, if both parties satisfied does anyone else matter?
I've never been the one for love, the kind of girl who follows love where ever it leads, quite the contrary , I was the type of girl that ran so fast from love. Didn't believe in it to begin with but just in case never was a round someone , who i might fall for.
- OMG! he haven't taken his eyes off you for the last 5 minutes he must like you.
- He has been flirting with daily for month now, it must mean something
- Come on, he only comes when you are around, maybe he is interested
No, no and no. he is looking at me cause he thinks he knows me from somewhere, he flirts cause he's bored and he comes when am around cause I am fun to be around.
I never try to explain guys behaviors as interest,  I don't like to overestimate simple gestures. and deep inside I was terrified of love, I see it as weakness, and I always recognized in my personality that tendency to go very weak. to give everything for the one I love and derive my happiness from their happiness , so I steered away from it. No body was worthy of me, cause I didn't want to give part of me to anyone.
But Fate always have other plans , someone saw me , studied me , saw my weakness and went for it. it sound evil , malicious and devious but it's not.
the definition of love is an intense feeling of deep affection  I've never been the one to have intense feelings, other than intense feeling of loneliness and sadness both unexplained and I got so used to those that sometimes I just miss them it's rare but like a companion I've had for so long I out of loyalty try to fake them, but I have no patience for them anymore.
the definition of relationship is the state of being connected. I actually do feel connected to someone all the time. it's a nice feeling. I have to admit I miss being single , the freedom of doing what you want when you want and not caring about what anyone else thinks or wants. but slowly that feeling is starting to fade.
I am not good at feelings and am even worst at communicating my feelings, so alot of time I mess up, because I can't communicate what I want or what I need.Maybe I will grow better in it as times goes by. But I can't help feeling too old for that game. Like when you start to play a game so late while everyone else is so far ahead.
It doesn't help that a huge chunk of your friends or your so-called-friends keep telling you , you are doing it wrong based on their experience relationships are not supposed to be like this.
I might not have a lot of Experience but I know this much is true,
* Every relationship is NOT the same, different people have different dynamics.
* Make your relationship not about the fact that you are in a relationship, make it about the guy/girl. It must always be a way not a mean.

all i know about love so far is it's making me so happy, I would do anything for love it might be an illusion, but it's the sweetest yet. so I will live in an illusion until it gets smashed on the harsh rock of reality

Asmaa

Last Weekend end I got a BBM from friends suggesting we go to the movies, specifically this new movie called Asmaa, Not being an Arabic movies fan I had no idea whatsoever about that movie, but applying that new fun loving spirit I was trying to embrace lately I went along.
for those of you who haven't seen the Movie I won't try to ruin it for you.But I found out the Movie was about Aids, HIV to be more specific Patients who are HIV positive to be quite accurate. Later on I discovered that the movie have tons of awards, so you don't need me to tell you it is a movie worth watching.
The Main Issue for me was the part where everyone wanted to know how she got the disease while she stubbornly refusing to tell anyone. People wanting to know how she got it so they would know how to react toward her, is she a sinner or an innocent victim. It shouldn't make a difference, but sadly it does. every bit of that movie hurt me, It put me in a mood that I can't get raid of it till now. this post was supposed to be about HIV patients in Egypt. I had a million opinion and I read a bunch of scientific stuff but I just can't.
I just feel sad, depressed and broken inside. it even might be because she reminded me of myself .I am not that brave or stubborn  not to this extent but I have both of them inside me , more then most people even know. She was selfless and she had a guilty conscious those were the root of her trouble. I have no selflessness inside of me, I can't put myself second except if I feel in love or if I had a guilty Conscious. I think the main problem is that the movie scared me more then anything and I just realized now , why?
In the movie you don't get to understand her personality upfront, it something that comes to you , bit by bit. through a bunch of flashbacks, Like a puzzle you start to fit each piece of her story  , and with each part the picture gets clearer . after I assembled the Picture it reminded me of myself and the story is so sad it scared me , but now I see it all so clear. She drew a straight line to her own doom, with her own hands and although she saw what's coming ahead , it didn't stop she just kept on going .I tend to do that, but I 've been blessed not to cause permanent damage.

The ship that never sinks

Life is radically changed. when you are 29 But one of the everlasting issue that hardly ever change is friendship. you still go through all the silly drama that has been going since the first day you went to KG and called someone your friend for the first time. I suspect that this same drama will be still going on till you the day we die. of course the problems might "seem" different but basically they are the same themes. Jealousy, loyalty , trust, being there when needed. All those issues. Personally I had my share of friends and the theme that always seemed to happen for me again and again was Jealousy. I always have this great friend and then a new person is added to the mix suddenly my close friends starting acting crazy and jealous and usually puts me in a Me or Her type of situation , I fail to make a choice. she get mad I get bored with the drama we seize to be friends. Most girls are Drama Queens, so I always took this things lightly . Lately I was doing a lot of soul searching and I was faced with the question of "how come I get over people super fast?" The thing is when I lose a friend I don't dwell about it I accept it and move on, Personally I've always thought am mature that way. Then I broke up with someone who I was madly in love with ( Long Story for another time) . To everyone's surprise. It took me 2 days to completely get over him. Suddenly Everyone was telling me that I this is not normal and they expected me to crumble and show my deep sadness later. but when I didn't I was accused of being cold , detached and easy to forget people (baya3a).
But am Not!!!! I am a really good friend, Every friend I've ever had marveled about how good friend I am and how whenever they have problems or trouble I am the first person who will be there for them. And that I am God's Gift to friends. Then after the not-so-messy breakup a very close friend of mine came and admitted that she dated that ex behind my back. My reaction! I totally understood her point after all you can't chose who you fall in love with and I held her hand through her own break-up. which she is still suffering of. I really wish her well and I am now a closer friend to her then before. but I have to admit that I am still prone to jealousy when I hear about how he was better boyfriend to her then he was to me, because I deserved better then that.but I don't even tell her that I sound like an amazing friend , right!!
7 years ago I stopped talking to a one of the closest friends I've had for 12 years, because she broke-off her engagement to my cousin with out telling me and the following day when we met she acted like nothing was wrong. I guess my point is just that friendship is a messy business , P.s I have a distinct feeling that I lost my ability to write, but that might be just a little rust. so sorry if you found this post less then satisfying.

I am Back.......... I think

It's been so long since I've been around the blog-sphere, almost 4 years, it started a couple of weeks ago I was bored stumbled across a blog. kept reading all night through and after a while , Like usual, thoughts started racing through my head and I wanted to vent so I opened a word sheet and wrote few words. and discovered that I missed blogging. I wrote a few very small posts (and in Arabic) in my other blog, because it's titled thoughts and they were just a few random thoughts and then I decided to today to take a look here and I was surprised ( pleasantly) with my old posts and decide to be back for good , or until I get bored again.

Tolerance

what is Tolerance?
the simple definition is to accept the other person.
but what exactly do they mean when they say Accept. does it mean treating that person good and respect his/her believes , or respect that person and respect his/her believes, or treat that person with respect and keep my feelings to myself.
it seems that everyone Demand Respect, every single person wants the rest of the world to respect his/her believe. but can anyone really do it?
Can you respect the other persons believes even if you think they are idiotic and makes no sense to you at all?
Lately America has been asking Egyptians to have more Tolerance toward the somewhat minority Christians. Personally I believe that if anyone should lecture us about Tolerance it would never be the Americans. with all due respect to the great American Civilization. Don't Throw Rocks When You Are in a Glass House. Go fix your Racism, gay rights for marriage and your xenophobia and islamophobia then come and tell us what we should do.
I won't say that Christine life in Egypt is an endless sunshine. I am sure they get picked on based on their religion. but in Egypt every on get picked on for one reason or another. In Egypt we are all oppressed and we all oppress any one we can, just because we can.
What I find impressive is that the amount of foreigners who scream their lungs out that Egypt (and Arab world) should be more tolerant, I've met also met Screaming their lungs out that Islam is an evil Religion that should be terminated because it's the civilized thing to do.
if you talk to them about tolerance they talk to you about freedom of speech.
it's like
they (the civilized) enjoy the freedom of speech while YOU (the uncivilized in their eyes ) should remember to be tolerant. and they honestly can't see the double standerds no matter how hard you can point it out.
I am done trying to expect any productive conversation with people from so-called civilized country.

The Dream

The following post is based upon a dream I had, I wasn't gonna write anything about it for so long, but it kept haunting me. excuse the corny , pushed dialogue. I've always sucked at writing dialogue.
I know it's too long. if you got bored at the middle just stop reading and leave a comment.
^_^

-1-

When Mr. Abachy opened the door, the expression of his face was instantly transformed. It annoyed him that someone would come at this time of night, he didn’t feel like talking to anyone even for a small amount of time but after seeing the dirty face of his son, Jason, the annoyance quickly turned into happiness. As always it was happiness mixed with sadness, although He hasn’t seen his son Jason for months and he was worried. It still pained him to see how low his son had sunk. He then noticed a girl was standing next to him, she looked clean well put, not the type of person that would hang with Jason in his current state. He invited both of them in trying to shake away the sadness in his heart.

The moment Abe Jason’s father opened the door Jason knew it was a mistake coming here; Phoebe had begged him for days to let her. Against his best judgment he bulked in . His father hadn’t seen him for months, but sometimes he’d pass and checked the lights in his father bedroom. He promised himself that he won’t deal with his father, if he doesn’t want to but he broke that promise just like he broke almost every one he made to himself. Somehow the old man’s opinion still gets to him, The resentment he saw in his father’s face made him want to run, he was about to leave when his father invited them both in. it was no use backing up now, so He went in trying to shake away the dread he felt in his heart.

Phoebe hoped some good will come out of this. Jason’s father seemed like a nice old man she could easily see relieve on his face when he saw Jason, but she could also detected sadness. It was expected under the circumstances. She could sense Jason’s fear arising, he was panicking like when he first did, when she asked to meet his family. It amazed her how they didn’t converse with each other at all, but still managed to seem like they were having a conversation. Mr. Abachy took a step back and motioned for them to come in. she felt the hesitation from Jason, then just when she though he'd run away he went in. she followed him in hoping for the best.

-2-

Mr. Abachy knew his time was limited and he had to make the phone call as fast and as discreetly as possible. Instead of walking to the bathroom he hurried to the phone.
There he made the phone call. All he has to do now was, wait. He’s always been bad at waiting; it wasn’t in his nature to just wait. But lately his life had been summoned down to waiting. Wait for his son to come by. Wait for him to regain his mind or desire to live or whatever he lost, and gets out of that mess he calls life. Wait for death to come by. All he had to do was, wait.

His father had excused himself to the bathroom. But Jason knows that’s not it. He knows that despite saying otherwise, his father hates seeing him. He pretends he doesn’t, but Jason could easily see the resentment and disappointment in his father’s eyes. He cursed himself for being dumb enough to come here again to be judged and ridiculed and promised himself never again would he come back. This time when he walks out that door it will be forever. He started soaking up every detail of the house and carves it in his heart before he forever leaves.

The dynamic between those 2 was amazing to Phoebe, their pain and fear was so obvious and out there. But they both seem only capable of see their own individual pain and blind to see the other's. They didn’t need to talk to each other, she doubted that they would even hear each other if they tried. Each one of them was so filled up with his own emotion to even acknowledge the other’s. Mr. Abachy seemed like a friendly, nice person, nothing what Jason has described. He was taking too long she hoped he’d come back soon cause she suspected that Jason was getting ready to leave whether his father came back or not.

-3-

Jason - I am leaving
Mr. Abachy - but we didn't have any time to talk, and I haven’t got to know your friend. I don’t even know her name.
Jason - Well if you cared about that you would‘ve stayed here instead of hiding in your room
Mr. Abachy - Hiding! Who’s hiding? I was in the bathroom
Jason - Please! Couldn’t you’ve done better than that? A better excuse, I never knew that you need 20 minutes to take a piss
Mr. Abachy - I didn’t know there was a time limit?
Jason - whatever! I am leaving and I wouldn’t count on seeing me again
Mr. Abachy - Just wait 5 more minutes.
Jason - WHAT? What the fuck you are talking about?
Mr. Abachy - I said just stay 5 more minutes.
Jason - You gotta be fucking me, so what did you order this time? Some groceries or maybe a hot meal for your god damn homeless son
Phoebe - Jason I think you need to calm down.
Jason - Calm down! You were asking how come I never come here, because this old man is always trying to cram down some meal down my throat like am some kind of fucken beggar, not his god damn son. I am here to fucken see you not trying to score a stupid meal.
Mr. Abachy - I know how hard life on the street is.I… I only want to make sure you are ….. Fine.
Jason - Really? How about the rest of the 365 days when am not here.
Mr. Abachy - I can’t control these, I just wish you’d come back here …. More often, I mean.
Jason - then maybe you should stop acting like the fucken king of universe. am outta here.

-4-

When Mr. Abachy went to his living room he was hoping that his relatively long absence would go unnoticed. But as soon as he went inside his son declared his intention to leave. He tried to get him to stay but his son dismissed that and accused him of hiding in his room, despair gripped his heart as he tried to get his son to stay. Before long Jason had figured it out, and as usual he got furious. He has always been a smart kid, how could someone as smart as Jason end up in that life was beyond Abe. Once again Abe found himself in a screaming Match with his only son. He didn’t understand why something as normal and considerate as a simple meal would cause all that anger from his son.

Jason couldn’t believe how his father had turned a simple visit into WWIII, why does he has to always pull this fucken stunts was beyond Jason’s understanding. Why does he always has to remind Jason that he’s a loser it’s not like he could forget. But sometimes he can pretend that he’s just a normal son visiting his father, there is no need to remind him that he’s merely a homeless failure. Why just can’t he pretend, why does he has to push him while he’s already down.

It was easy for Phoebe to see where both of them were coming from. In one hand she had a desprate father trying to help his son, the only way he knew how. On the other there was a son who believes he’s a complete loser and that his father is merely rubbing it in. she wanted to shake both of them hard and make them open their eyes to see the simple truth. But she suspected that they would never allow themselves to see it. They were so different and yet so alike. All Phoebe could do was wishful thinking ,hoping that in the future they would choose to see what they disregard so willingly now, before it was too late.

THE END

Feminism !

Feminism, is a very interesting concept for me.
all my life i heard phrases like, women's right, feminism and equality. and to tell you the truth I never took the time of day to figure out do i actually believe in that or not. my own personal opinion was a blur. then lately that issue rose to the surface all of a sudden , Maybe it was because of too much Talkshowes that had to fill their airtime with something , or maybe i suddenly was old enough to care, or maybe women just went crazy or maybe it was about time women started talkin about what was rightfully theirs. whatever the reason I suddenly discovered I had an opinion, an opinion that shocks a lot of people who knows me. people around me have this misconception about me as being this independent, wanna-b-American, spoiled brat. I am not a Feminist so that surprise almost everyone around me, except few people who knows me well enough to realize that looks is deceiving.
I Honestly don't see women as in desperate need for help to have their rights. what really bothers me about Arab Feminists, is that a lot of them make couple of stupid mistakes for instance they claim that the "Arab" world is designed to automatically give the man more rights, when it's very evident that this is a GLOBAL issue, they claim that the "Civilized world" has given the women their rights while the fight for women's right is still fought even in America, of course gone is the times of bra burning, but by their own recognition it is still going on. and get me started about their stupid complains about how our society allow men to make some mistakes and denies women those same mistakes and their BIGGEST example is always pr-marital sex, how women are punished for the by death while men get away with it, it's a vaild point but how come every time thye talk about it they comeof as if they just want parents to be cool with their daughters having pre-marital sex instead of wanting partents to raise their sons not to do itreligion is usually their biggest obstacle some choose to get out of this predicament by claiming that the they (sheik and Imams) don't get it right some go as far as claiming that the religion is flawed like of course Nawal el Sadawy, some just ignore the religion all together.

A lot of men would tell you that most feminist are just ugly women who failed in live so they are taking their frustration out on men, I wish i could contradict that but sadly this is the picture that most feminist draw, when they talk you can easily see that they are pushed by merely stubbornness, or bitterness and sometimes even both, most of them refuse to listen to common sense I mean comeon people is it really that important to have women working in EVERY SINGLE JOB, we have to have a female judge, a female Ma2zone, a Female this, a female that! I do believe that some jobs are best preformed by a males some are best preformed by a females.
I also believe that men and women were created different but still equal, I just see equality in a different light. I don't have to be ina male dominate job to feel my equality, hell i don't even have to have a job. it sounds kinda pointless for both men and women to do the same jobs, it's like having a company filled with managers with no emplyees, if both men and women went to work how would raise children? usually anyself respecting feminist would simply tell you, why don't men stay at home and raise children ? and my answer is quite simple because women are better at raising children than men, they have more patients and more nurturing, it's in their nature. it doesn't make them less equal or less then men. We were created on this earth to worship God and to proliferate so raising a family is an imprtant part of our religion , and to raise a family we need a man and a woman. A man protect and a women nurture, it's not a master and slave realationship, it's a partnership and like any other partership ONE has to be in command not 2. Women are married by will, so basically the women gets to chose the man she's gonna live with and follow for the rest of her life, and both of them would follow God's Commands in thier life.
For me it's as simply as that, if you don't like that (as a women) then simply don't get married, (unlike men women are not required to get married in religion).
I am told that this is my view because I've never been to the real world, I've lived in my very own cocoon , a happy family, a privet school , a nice job ,driving my own car and hanging out with friends in cafes and Malls.
Maybe that's right, I don't have any male brothers so maybe I don't know how it feels to be treated as a second grade citizen (as femisits claim happens) but i do believe that this praticular problem which is the only problem I honestly feel for and see, have a very easy solution, instead of goin to talk shows and rallies and assosiations. stay home raise your kids and treat them equally tell your son, you and your sister are alike.
I am sorry but I don't see men as the enemy women are.

Freedom is a privilege not a right

First off i have to admit that I've been wanting to write something new for a long time now, but like I already told diva I wasn't in the mood at all and my mind felt completely empty not a single idea for so long but never the less I resisted writing this particular post for a long time , for me the general rule in my life is if i can't change it then i simply ignore it. so because i can't change it and all it does is bother me a lot. so i simply ignore it, but somehow i wasn't able to ignore this cause it kept running around in my brain and giving me a gr8 headache.
Rachel Corrie
Who is Rachel Corrie?
i admit that until couple of days ago I had no idea what's so ever who that person it, i avoid news about Palestine like the plague. sorry! but it frustrates me . it always feel like a person i knew and abandoned. I suddenly found myself facing a pieces of information saying that she was an American peace activist that was ran over by an Israelis bulldozer while attempting to stop an illegal destruction of a Palestinian house.
and I am ashamed to admit that what caught my attention is the fact that she's American. don't get me wrong i like Americans as the next person but it's well known that most Americans are more interested in internal affairs and most of them (not all just most) knows next to nothing about other countries especially Arabic ones. and also America the big monster . you'd read in an accident about people killed from all nationalities but if one American was injured America don't let it slide so easy, it's a rule that America doesn't allow ANYTHING or ANYONE to hurt Americans aboard. (I bet it feels great to know that your country would support you in time of need). so after reading for a while about Rachel Corrie, i surfed the net for news of the American reaction and found that they demanded an investigation which was done by "Israelis" and concluded that she was recluse and she "jumped" in front of the bulldozer despite various eye-witnesses that assured that wasn't how it happened and that the driver did it internationally.
and that was when it came to me that people who rules all across the world , be they kings, queens , Prime ministers , emperors or presidents. believe the same thing that "Freedom is a privilege not a right". No matter how hard they scream and shout the opposite of that. every country gives it's people a limited amount of freedom , sometimes it's a lot other times it's nothing, you can never exceed your amount. just like when the war at Afghanistan started among all the Taliban's there were an American ,I am not sure if there were others but am quit sure there was at least one, that person was treated just like the rest of Taliban like a terrorist and not one American objected ,at least not loud enough for international ppl to hear, what about his rights ? what about innocent until proven guilty , what about.... what about?
all this makes me think that living in a country like ours is at least more honest they don't pretend ,at least they didn't start to, that we have freedom of speech or any type of freedom. they simply tell us Freedom is a privilege and you don't deserve it . unlike all over the world were they teach them that Freedom is a right, but the fine print says as long as you don't stand in the way of bigger schemes. I think that's why a lot of the so-called civilized world get a shocked when they get ran over and left behind by their strongest country in the world.

this whole post starting to not make sense and lost all it's consistency and isn't even coherent and feels pompous and pretentious, so I apologize for anyone who read all this JUNK

The book Vault: Happy Bday

This is just Another post about Books, I’ve been surfing online for some good book reviews websites, and since I am so into Blogs right now I thought what the hell, let’s find some decent book worms who review books, you know to see what they think about books. So while I was doing that I stumbled on a site called the book muncher, read in it a little bit then it mentioned another book review blog, what’s special about that blog is that the blogger Dominique, is conducting a riddle-contest, she says a riddle about a certain book, and we (the people who’d send her the answers) had to figure out what that book is and send her an email. Then she’d give a point for each correct answer and in the end the ones with the most points win, what exactly do they win, my personal faviourte and every book worm fav. FREE BOOKS LOL.

This time I won't forget the website. LOL

so here is the post about the riddle at book muncher, and here is the one at the book Vault

Anyways she also gives 2 points to anyone who blogs about the contest, but honestly I would’ve blogged about it anyways, I mean Comeon there is nothing more worthy posting a bout than books especially free ones. LOL

By the way the whole reason for the contest is Dominique’s Birthday, so happy birthday Dominque. And whether I win or Lose, you just gained a dedicate reader for your blog

That’s it for now

Arranged Marriage

When I typed Arranged Marriage on Google I was expecting to find more about arranged marriage concerning Muslim and Arab on general, but what actually surprised me is that all the results I got was about Indians!now don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no problem with Indians, but I wasn't aware that arranged marriages is their favorite and, most times, only method to chose a spouse, I thought we Arab took the lead to that, but I was hugely mistaken, it's actually is a surprise for me to realize that Indians still practice arranged marriage even aboard as apposed to Arabs who are doing their best to abandon it, for the sake of western civilization.Of course I was glad to realize that not everyone confuse forced marriage with arranged marriage but most people seem to think that it is a loveless marriage, where both sides don't actually love each other and some even hardly like each other.I honestly find that funny, because not all arranged marriages are loveless marriages. in fact I've seen arranged marriages with true love stories as much as I've seen misery in them . in fact the marriage I admire the most is based on an arranged marriage, and that is the marriage of my own parents, I don't admire their marriage just because they are my parents, neither am I the only one that actually admire it. in fact most of our cousins males and females from both sides of the family have always expressed their hopes of finding a marriage and LOVE like my parents have, after 28 years of Marriage they are so much in love and still happily married. The problem with people in Egypt is that they whether condemn arranged marriage (seeing it as a loveless marriage or someone who just wants to marry anyone) or they condemn love marriages (seeing it as unrealistic and often fails and also a not-so-moral way to meet your future spouse). But I personally believe that a person can think he married someone out of love to later discover that this person got married just for the sake of marriage or the other way round people can think that they are having an arranged marriage just to find the "one".It’s also very bizarre to me. Those same people who frown upon arranged marriage live in a country where matchmakers actually are still in the business of helping single to meet and worse they had something where you can mail order a bride! Also another weird thing is they never realized that an arranged marriage in Egypt is only arranged in the beginning (the setting in which the couple would meet) after that completing it or not is up to both parties. of course there are the people that do what ever that would satisfy their parents but I do believe that this is a problem with the person rather than the arrangement, that same person will cave in to his/her parents will about what college to study in, where to live, where to work, and eventually who to marry, so whether it's an arrange marriage or a love based one that person will have a weak personality in front of his/her parents. All in all, marriage is marriage. People get married because they want to; they take what they want out of that marriage, whether it is love, money, companionship, power, children or just the mere fact that they are not single anymore. It’s not how you meet your spouse that matters what matter the most is who you want it to be and what you want out of it

Books

I am a book worm, I say it proudly. I've always been one.I love reading. I read in both English and Arabic. I enjoy both of them.I read every genre there is.Bookcrossing.comI discovered this site totally by accident. it's idea is simple you read a book, then leave it anywhere for someone else to read it, who in turn leave it anywhere to be found by anyone. A unique number is given for the book, you write both the website and the number on the book and the person who find it goes online and say they have the book.the idea is simply fascinating but for a person like me (who totally adores looking at my books) it's kinda hard to separate myself from my books, but there are a few books I’ve read and hated and don't really care for it, I might’ve let them go by freely
BUT
I really don't think that such idea is actually do-able in Egypt.I am not sure I'll ever do it. a book left somewhere here in Egypt has one of three destinys1- found by someone and sell it by the Kilogram (to be turned to paper which contains falafel)2- found by someone who'd sell it to a wondering book-seller3- thrown in the garbage.
They (Bookcrossing) have another part where you could trade books with the other members, so I just might do that and then again maybe not.

ُEgyptian blogs

Lately I have discovered a whole new world of Egyptian blogs . Personally I haven't been blogging for a long while and don't know anyone who does . it's hard to try to explain to people what are blogs so my official explanation is "it's like an electronic diary ". what i didn't know was that there is this number of Egyptian bloggers. people who are soo talented and beautiful (from the inside i mean)
must bloggers talk about their life from a certain aspect.
after reading them all (most of them are in Arabic of course) i felt shame with my humble Blog.
I have a Bookmark with Interesting blogs a lot of them in English but some are in Arabic
and they are
Ghada Bride , the reason that started the whole Egyptian blogs for me after i read her book

Eman Hashim , Have a great Blog i agree with her sometime and disagree other. but on general i think she's a great person and very talented

ايمان اسامه , she writes in her blog every Thursday. it's hilarious and i totally love it.

رحـاب بـسـام , For soo long i resisted readin her blog cause the book's title gave me the "wrong " impression that it's about love and stuff like that but after reading it i discovered i was wrong. it's about herself in every possible way love may be there but only a part of her. it's soo personal but at the same time everyone can totally relate to.

عبده الرايق , the only Egyptian Male blogger i read for. before him i thought that blogging in Egypt was only for girls he writes about the fiction (hopefully) character Abdo . he's very funny and i think he should get published.

there was another blogger that i forgot her name she wrote about her mother-in-law, I read her whole blog then made the fatal mistake of forgetting to bookmark it now i can't find it.

so hopefully in the next couple of days i start discover more good Egyptian bloggers

Do We (Muslims) believe in Allah or God ?

It never manages to puzzle me the fact that (nearly) every American thinks that we as Muslims believe in Allah which is something totally different from God. what really is jaw dropping for me is that I read a sentence in a website that said "It is stated as a fact that Islam, Judaism and Christianity share in common the belief in one god. This is a half-truth, which is the worst kind of lie. Christianity and Judaism worship one god, the god of Abraham. Islam worships one god named Allah "

whether the writer is with or against that (I don't remember) doesn't make a difference the fact that someone would say that is beyond me. and i think it's funny in a sad way. It's like saying that French Christians don't believe in god they believe in Dieu. ask anyone who speaks Arabic (not necessarily a Muslim for Arabic speaking Christians do exist). what does the word Allah means. you will be told that it means god and any muslim will tell you that Muslims believe in Abraham and in Jesus. they are prophets of Allah (God). we believe that Christianity and Judaism where sent from Allah too. the main difference is that we believe that they should have converted to Islam when Mohamed (peace be upon him) was sent and that the religions they follow now is diverted from the original religions that God sent.

In my opinion the reason muslims all over the world chose to say allah instead of god or what ever the language they speak is simply the same reason why we say Hijab instead of vial and Jihad instead of holy war. Muslims prefer to use as many Arabic words as they can. we on general don't like to translate our religion. The Quran was sent to us in Arabic so we like to preserve it in the original because we consider it a miracle.

So answering the question Do We (Muslims) believe in Allah or God ?
would be Both because for us (Muslims ) Allah is God. and God is Allah

Islam Vs. Islamic Countries

People have to learn to differentiate between Islam and Islamic countries. It's not the same thing just because Saudi choose to beat women with no veil doesn’t mean that it's stated in Islam.

Islam is a choice people make. And like anything in life it has CLEAR RULES those rules include pygmy, Hijab (veil) , whipping and stoning as punishment for infidelities , etc. Those things are part of the Islam if you don't like it then don't be a Muslim. Those rules should only apply to them. If you see them as barbaric and inhuman then it's your problem. But you have no right saying that doing that is wrong and shouldn't be applied those people chose to live (and die if they must) by these rules. This is their free will so stay out of it.

Do I sound like am brainwashed? Maybe but being a Muslima that thinks the wearing Hijab (Veil) is the right decision. Then am probably viewed as Brain washed

I am oppressed

Apparently we all are .
No matter how much I scream that I am not .
A Muslim woman in a Muslim country has to be oppressed. you can claim you are not as much as you like. but that doesn't change the fact that you are oppressed.
I am not Vailed (wearing the Hijab) so that's a point for me. Of course the fact that I am hoping to wear it soon doesn't change the fact that they probably look at me as if i am someone who's very brave because I fight for my own freedom.
The western World won't simply allow it. for you to be Muslim and not oppressed and suppressed.
because you don't wear revealing clothes and choose to cover your body instead.
and they are kinda right what women won't like to show (nearly) her entire body and walk around like a piece of meat and have men drool over her (J/k by the way)
if you chose to cover up then you are oppressed.
More on that later
