Do We (Muslims) believe in Allah or God ?

It never manages to puzzle me the fact that (nearly) every American thinks that we as Muslims believe in Allah which is something totally different from God. what really is jaw dropping for me is that I read a sentence in a website that said "It is stated as a fact that Islam, Judaism and Christianity share in common the belief in one god. This is a half-truth, which is the worst kind of lie. Christianity and Judaism worship one god, the god of Abraham. Islam worships one god named Allah "

whether the writer is with or against that (I don't remember) doesn't make a difference the fact that someone would say that is beyond me. and i think it's funny in a sad way. It's like saying that French Christians don't believe in god they believe in Dieu. ask anyone who speaks Arabic (not necessarily a Muslim for Arabic speaking Christians do exist). what does the word Allah means. you will be told that it means god and any muslim will tell you that Muslims believe in Abraham and in Jesus. they are prophets of Allah (God). we believe that Christianity and Judaism where sent from Allah too. the main difference is that we believe that they should have converted to Islam when Mohamed (peace be upon him) was sent and that the religions they follow now is diverted from the original religions that God sent.

In my opinion the reason muslims all over the world chose to say allah instead of god or what ever the language they speak is simply the same reason why we say Hijab instead of vial and Jihad instead of holy war. Muslims prefer to use as many Arabic words as they can. we on general don't like to translate our religion. The Quran was sent to us in Arabic so we like to preserve it in the original because we consider it a miracle.

So answering the question Do We (Muslims) believe in Allah or God ?
would be Both because for us (Muslims ) Allah is God. and God is Allah
